Gingers, Jersey, and Julia Child

Okay, as you can see I have three subjects to talk about. First, gingers. I do not mean to hurt or insult anyone. But if you do not know what a ginger is, it is the person with red hair, pale skin, and freckles everywhere. I thought it was only my sister's obsession for a little while. Her's started in the beginning of April when it was my best friend's surprise birthday party. My sister's reaction was "Mary, I never knew you had this many gingers in your family. I love it!" Mary would just laugh and say "I never noticed" because in fact she has five cousins that are gingers. But my sister, Caroline, does not stay on something very long and she dropped the ginger obsession very shortly. But now I have come across many people who are literally counting how many gingers they see a day. So it was not just my sister who I thought was big on them but other people as well.
Now, New Jersey. Or Jersey Shore. I don't know if it's the Italians, the accents, or "The Situation" and Snooki, but the Jersey has taken a hit with many people. The hottest show on MTV next to 16 and Pregnant. But now Jersey is in many other shows such as Jersey Couture and The Real Housewives of New Jersey. And yes, they are all reality TV shows. It is a huge thing now and I will be completely honest. I watched five minutes of Jersey Shore and did not like it at all. I don't know what it is. I guess I prefer New York accents better.
And last but not least. Julia Child. I just watched last night Julie & Julia, finally. I have been wanted to see that movie since when it first came out and that was I believe September maybe? I liked the movie a lot but I was really bummed that Julie did not get to meet Julia Child. I was really hoping for that. It also makes me want to write a blog about a working my way through a cookbook. But I have my mother who is a wonderful cook and works her butt off almost every night getting a meal ready for my family to sit and have a nice meal. I do like to cook and will every so often cook for my family. But sometimes I think my mother thinks I will burn the house down but I am not that bad. If it's my brother, than maybe. But I am the type of person when I get older and have a house of my own, I will buy a cookbook and go through every recipe and try it. If I like it, I will copy it and keep it in a big cookbook of my own. My mom on the other hand likes to but tons of recipe books and pick out different recipes she wants the family to try. On that note, I think this blog is time to be finished.
